What we do
The Greek Orthodox Church has a musical tradition that is many centuries old. In 21st century America, we try to maintain that tradition even while we adjust it to the needs of the local church.
The Byzantine Choir of Holy Transfiguration, currently under the direction of Paul Bilson and Fr. Michael Tishel, strives to maintain the Byzantine musical tradition while making it more accessible and understandable by singing primarily in English and using standard musical notation. Our purpose is to facilitate a prayerful liturgical atmosphere, uplift and inspire the faithful to draw closer to God. To join the ministry or just support it, please contact Paul Bilson or Fr.
