Spiritual Book Club

What we do

The purpose of the Spiritual Book Club is to draw practical lessons and inspiration from the lives of the saints and related spiritual texts, which can then be applied to our own lives within our given circumstances. We meet on the second Monday of every month (excluding May) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the St. Basil Conference Room (church library).

Schedule

Our next two meetings will be on Monday, June 9th and Monday, July 14th. We are currently reading and will be discussing Come, Let Us Worship: A Practical Guide to the Divine Liturgy by Fr. Patrick O’Grady. The book will be available in the Church Bookstore starting the week of May 12th.

Come, Let Us Worship walks the reader through the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, explaining the meaning of each element and how the congregant may best participate in this fundamental act of Orthodox worship. Those new to Orthodoxy and those who wonder about the meaning of the Liturgy will find this small guide a helpful and informative companion.
