About
Fr. Christopher Zaferes joined our community in March of 2025. Though originally from Chattanooga, he spent much of his life in the Northeast and on the West Coast. Now, he is excited to be back home, putting down deep roots with his wife and children. In his free time, he enjoys camping, hiking, and, of course, reading. He is happiest, however, when interrupted to play with one or both of his children.
Background
Fr. Christopher grew up in a family deeply rooted in the Orthodox Christian faith. He pursued his theological education at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and History, as well as a Master of Divinity. He has traveled extensively in Greece and completed a portion of his studies there. In 2017, he was married, and the following year, he was ordained to the holy priesthood. He served two parishes in the Metropolis of Pittsburgh prior to joining the Metropolis of Atlanta. He has worked extensively with youth and young adults through various Orthodox summer and camping programs.
