Youth Classes
Levels K A/B through 3: Our Youth Greek Language Program introduces students to the Greek language through an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum. In Levels K A/B, students begin with the Greek alphabet, basic vocabulary, and simple conversation. As they progress to Levels 1–3, they develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while gaining an appreciation for Greek culture and traditions. Each level builds on the previous one, helping students gain confidence and fluency step by step.
Ellinomatheia Program
This advanced program prepares students for the official Certificate of Attainment in Greek. Many of our students go on to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, an official recognition of language proficiency awarded by State Education Departments. This class focuses on developing the advanced language skills needed to pass the exam, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and oral communication. Students typically begin Ellinomatheia preparation at Level 3 or higher once they’ve built a solid foundation in Greek. It differs from the general Youth Program in its academic focus and exam readiness goals.
Adult Classes
Adult Beginner classes provide a welcoming introduction to Modern Greek, covering essential vocabulary, grammar, and conversation for travel, family, or personal enrichment. No prior experience is required.
Adult Advanced classes build upon the Beginner foundation, offering deeper exploration of grammar, syntax, and reading, along with guided conversation practice. These courses are great for adult learners who wish to strengthen their language skills for work, study, traveling or cultural engagement.
Biblical Greek Class
The Biblical Greek course offers a focused study of the Greek used in the New Testament and early Christian texts—Koine Greek (pronounced koy-nay). Koine was the common dialect of Greek spoken and written from around 300 BCE to 300 CE. It is the specific form of Greek found in the New Testament and other foundational Christian writings. Students learn classical grammar and vocabulary while exploring scriptural passages in their original language. This class is ideal for theology students, clergy, or anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the Bible through the lens of its original Greek context.
